De ware crisis veroorzaken we zelf

Op de dag dat de PVV van Geert Wilders volgens de peilingen van Maurice de Hond de grootste partij van Nederland is, lees ik in Evolutionary Psychology; a beginner's guide (2007) de afgrijselijke waarheid:
“History tells us that social life is subject to dramatic mood swings: periods of calm and stability alternate with periods of civil war and chaos. During stable periods,trust and reciprocity grow and we may be willing to act generously towards strangers. But during more troubled times, trust breaks down and we may draw in our social horns to focus our goodwill on the core members of our social networks – those whom we know we can trust and on whom we ourselves depend.”

En weer bekruipt mij het gevoel dat de grootste bedreiging van Nederland Geert Wilders en zijn aanhang is. We roepen het onheil over onszelf af.
